{"id":1052,"date":"2013-02-12T16:44:52","date_gmt":"2013-02-12T21:44:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/?p=1052"},"modified":"2013-02-16T06:58:08","modified_gmt":"2013-02-16T11:58:08","slug":"gaertner-at-the-cleveland-museum-of-art","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2013\/02\/gaertner-at-the-cleveland-museum-of-art\/","title":{"rendered":"Gaertner at the Cleveland Museum of Art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&rsquo;m an idiot, but you already knew that.<\/p>\n<p>After writing about discovering <a title=\"Carl Gaertner\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/2013\/01\/carl-gaertner\/\">Frederick Gaertner in this post<\/a>, I belatedly realized I had seen&ndash;on numerous&nbsp;occasions, no less&ndash;one of his paintings at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clevelandart.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cleveland Museum of Art<\/a>. &nbsp;For some reason, I never connected <em>that<\/em> Gaertner with <em>my<\/em> Gaertner discovered at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bonfoey.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bonfoey Gallery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"internal-linking-related-contents\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2012\/10\/cleveland-museum-of-art\/\" class=\"template-2\"><span class=\"cta\">Read more<\/span><span class=\"postTitle\">Cleveland Museum of Art Opens Renovations<\/span><\/a><\/div><p>The Museum&rsquo;s &ldquo;The Furnace&rdquo; is a large oil from Gaertner&rsquo;s earlier period when his subject was Cleveland in its heyday; a Cleveland rocking &#128578; with industrial brawn. &nbsp;Unfortunately, that Cleveland has faded into the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cuyahoga_River\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Burning River<\/a> lore.
