I get excited when I prepare my palette for another painting session. Seeing the waiting colors is inviting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I coat the glass palette with oil before applying the colors and mixed tones. This makes cleanup easier. In this photo, I propped the palette vertically on the easel and some of the paint slid down. The biggest offender was the ivory black from a fresh tube. I used to prepare more tones but I find that the cool grays and burnt sienna tones cover most situations.
