We visited the Red River Gorge in Kentucky’s Daniel Boone National Forest in October<\/a>. It’s beautiful there, especially in the fall. <\/p>\n

In addition to camping, fishing, and swimming opportunities, the Forest around the Gorge is crisscrossed by 200 hiking trails, like the one in my photo.<\/p>\n

Some trails are remote and difficult to access. The trail up to the popular Natural Stone Bridge is challenging and time-consuming. We took the lift to the top of the trail. I don’t like heights anymore, but I still managed to take some photos on the way up.  <\/p>\n

I took this photo of the Stone Bridge from across the valley. This natural formation looks astonishingly manmade. I used a zoom lens; you can make out people standing on the Bridge.<\/p>\n

There is a petting zoo close to the Stone Bridge, and the goats are delighted with my grandson, Noah. Noah graduated from high school last spring after spending his senior year in Germany. During the school year, he spent time in France as a German<\/em> exchange student. <\/p>\n
