Why do I remember?
\nI’ve carried this,
\n<\/span>and now–see?–here it is.<\/p>\n

\n

Guided by a compulsion (that has never left me)
\nI painted the walls of my mother’s house
\nthe entire length of the hallway;
\nfloating above the floor–I was light.<\/p>\n

My mother didn’t see it that way,
