{"id":6295,"date":"2016-07-31T20:15:12","date_gmt":"2016-08-01T00:15:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/?p=6295"},"modified":"2016-08-02T14:55:15","modified_gmt":"2016-08-02T18:55:15","slug":"in-the-studio-73116","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2016\/07\/in-the-studio-73116\/","title":{"rendered":"In the studio 7\/31\/16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Playhouse Square Trip<\/em> is, as the name implies, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2015\/03\/playhouse-square\/\">part of the Playhouse Square series<\/a>. &nbsp;The design is based on several photos I took during one of my photo sessions at the Square. &nbsp;As readers know, I&rsquo;ve been&nbsp;working on the&nbsp;series for a year or thereabout. &nbsp;The Square is heavily frequented by office workers, visitors, and theatergoers depending on the time of day. &nbsp; &nbsp;I had no idea what the man was about.<\/p>\n<div class=\"internal-linking-related-contents\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2012\/10\/in-the-studio-oct-14-2012\/\" class=\"template-2\"><span class=\"cta\">Read more<\/span><span class=\"postTitle\">In the Studio Oct. 14 2012<\/span><\/a><\/div><p>&ldquo;You&rsquo;re taking photos of children,&rdquo; the man said. &nbsp;For a moment, I was flabbergasted.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m taking photos in a public space,&rdquo; I replied evenly. &nbsp;Of the 300 photos I took that day, 50 or so were of the group of children.<\/p>\n<div class=\"internal-linking-related-contents\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2012\/10\/in-the-studio-102812\/\" class=\"template-2\"><span class=\"cta\">Read more<\/span><span class=\"postTitle\">In the Studio&mdash;10\/28\/12<\/span><\/a><\/div><p>&ldquo;Oh, just checking,&rdquo; he said and walked away. &nbsp;I have no idea what motivated the man. &nbsp; He walked to the area where the children were (he&rsquo;s not the man in this painting). &nbsp;In all my photos sessions over the years, this is only the second time someone took exception to my activity.<\/p>\n<p>If you&rsquo;re taking photographs in a public space, you do not need permission from anyone to take photos, nor do you need releases. &nbsp;There is no presumption&nbsp;of privacy in a public space. &nbsp;If you stood in the street in front of my house, you can take photos of my house without my permission.<\/p>\n<div class=\"internal-linking-related-contents\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2012\/10\/hurricane-sandy\/\" class=\"template-2\"><span class=\"cta\">Read more<\/span><span class=\"postTitle\">Hurricane Sandy<\/span><\/a><\/div><p>Anyway, I finished the drawing earlier in the week and today&rsquo;s work was the third painting session and I finished the underpainting. &nbsp;<em>Playhouse Square Trip<\/em> is 40&Prime;
