I worked on the 48″ x 48″ oil, Two Cakes<\/em>.  Two Cakes<\/em> has been long in hand.  I really do not like the surface; a commercial canvas by Fredrix.  I bought an assortment of Fredrix canvases from a NJ supplier who was going out of business. Even though I got a great deal on the lot, I regret the purchase and I haven’t bought anything from Fredrix since.  <\/p>\n

Fredrix canvases are only good for sketches or studies.  I prefer stretching and preparing my own canvases.  I can honestly say that I’ve never been satisfied with any commercially prepared canvases–ever.  So, Fredrix isn’t alone.<\/p>\n
