I shouldn&rsquo;t have. I normally stay away from thick painting mediums, but I enjoyed my far-ranging conversion, and everything I&rsquo;ve purchased before was top-quality, I thought, &ldquo;Why not?&rdquo; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.robertdoakart.com\/collections\/goop-goop-goop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Goop (opens in a new tab)\">Goop<\/a> is thick, resembling toothpaste. When thinned with turp and worked with a brush, it becomes flowing and malleable. In this respect, it reminds me of other jelly-like mediums. Goop-loaded paint floats above the canvas surface; I can see why some artists might like it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"internal-linking-related-contents\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2012\/10\/stephen-pentak-at-bonfoey\/\" class=\"template-2\"><span class=\"cta\">Read more<\/span><span class=\"postTitle\">Stephen Pentak at Bonfoey<\/span><\/a><\/div><p>Goop has two shortcomings that render it useless for me. It lacks body. This might surprise readers unfamiliar with jellied mediums. You might assume that it would be too thick&ndash;have too much body. Nope. After it breaks down, Goop is very thin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worst, though, is the odor. It smells harshly of chemicals.  Doak also sales  <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"PARALOID B-67 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/nshosting.dow.com\/doc-archive\/business\/pcm\/paraloid_b\/paraloid_b-67_45pct\/tds\/paraloid_b-67_45pct.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">PARALOID B-67<\/a> which is an alkyd-compatible acrylic resin. B-67 is supplied mixed with mineral spirits, or naphtha\/Xylene.
