Cleveland Museum of Art Opens Renovations<\/span><\/a><\/div>When people asked me what I called my work, I’d say “figurative.” The word “realism” often refers to aspects of painting that hold no interest for me. I have little interest, for instance, in reproducing textures found in the natural world, such as fur, or metal. For many, this is a critical aspect of historical realism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
