{"id":9209,"date":"2021-01-04T11:55:22","date_gmt":"2021-01-04T16:55:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/?p=9209"},"modified":"2021-01-04T13:52:33","modified_gmt":"2021-01-04T18:52:33","slug":"british-judge-rejects-assange-extradition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2021\/01\/british-judge-rejects-assange-extradition\/","title":{"rendered":"British judge rejects Assange extradition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Surprisingly, this morning <a href=\"https:\/\/shadowproof.com\/2021\/01\/04\/assange-decision-judge-approves-us-extradition-request\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a British judge rejected the US request for extradition of Julian Assange. <\/a>Assange, as most of you know, is the beleaguered founder\/leader of WikiLeaks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, Judge Vanessa Baraitser was considered a harsh critic of Assange so her decision surprises me. Assange&rsquo;s supporters expected a different decision, which would most likely spell the end for Assange. Among the reasons for her decision, the Judge listed Assange&rsquo;s &ldquo;recurrent depressive disorder and autism,&rdquo; and referenced the poor conditions inmates face in U.S prisons(?).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"internal-linking-related-contents\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2015\/05\/the-man-and-me\/\" class=\"template-2\"><span class=\"cta\">Read more<\/span><span class=\"postTitle\">The Man and me<\/span><\/a><\/div><p>Assange was charged in 2019 with 17 counts of violating the Espionage Act. &ldquo;The charges criminalized common newsgathering practices, including the receipt and publication of secret government information.
