At the time the article is written, Patrick is expected to die. The perpetrator, my great-great-grandfather Ben Risner, attacked the deputy sheriffs who came to arrest him. During the ensuing gunfight, my great-great-grandfather was shot dead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"internal-linking-related-contents\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2012\/11\/robert-smith\/\" class=\"template-2\"><span class=\"cta\">Read more<\/span><span class=\"postTitle\">Robert Smith<\/span><\/a><\/div><p>The reporter has no doubts as to the crime&rsquo;s cause and its perpetrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My grandmother, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomasparkerhudson.com\/wordpress\/2021\/03\/family-mystery\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9288\">whom I wrote about last time<\/a>, married Parker Arnett. Parker&rsquo;s mother is Josephine Risner Arnett. One of the deputies, Charley Arnett, is probably an uncle or cousin to my as-yet-unborn grandfather Parker Arnett.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both my grandmothers were keepers of their family&rsquo;s histories. The information she provided has proved reliable. She took several minutes reciting the A&rsquo;s and had just started with the B&rsquo;s when I asked her to stop.
