In the studio 11/29/15

I’ve posted little this week.  The flu sapped my energy and I preserved what little of it I had for painting and drawing. Most days, I got very little work done, and what I did exhausted me. But I am feeling better–knock wood.

I had my first three painting sessions with Victory Park I  during this low-energy period. Victory Park I is composed from several photos taken in Vermilion’s Victory Park. I spent a long time on the drawing, as usual, but in these sessions I am just covering the surface with local color. While I am preserve the drawing in this layer, the painting is pretty loose. There is a lot of green in the painting, which presents its own challenge. We’ll see how it goes. Victory Park I is 36″ x 48″.
