I thought I was going to finally finish Main Street #1 today but I fell short.  I am still  not satisfied with the right-most figure.  So, I keep working until I’m happy with it.

Today I used walnut oil that I bought from James Groves.  Really good stuff–for walnut oil.  As I’ve written before, James really knows what he’s doing.  His drying walnut oil is very limpid, very water-like, which is exactly the way I like oil.  Walnut oil is more leveling than linseed oil, which leads to uniformity unless one remains on guard.  Even so, it’s very good, like I said, but I’m sticking with my linseed oil.  Too bad he doesn’t make linseed oil.  I’m sure it’s because he doesn’t use it himself.
