I enjoyed this drawing paper so much that I completed the drawing instead of leaving it as a sketch for a painting. I’ll still make a painting of the subject, but I love this Fabriano drawing paper. It’s wonderful for all dy mediums, like this lead-only example.
I like the subject, which is based on one of my street photos, but I don’t have a name for the subject. ‘Man and woman on Main Street’ seems lame.
The planned painting is 42″ x 54″. I’ll reproduce the drawing and add a grid to match the grid on the canvas. I don’t have a scanner large enough for the 30″ x 22″ drawing paper, so I’ll make a careful photo of the drawing and print that.
I’ll share the process of transferring the design to canvas and starting the painting. These are the types of things I was interested in when I was a student.
