After getting back from my short trip to New York city last night, I was back in the studio at 5:00 A.M. I couldn’t wait to get back to work.
Graduation Day is still in the under-painting stage.
This morning I worked on the girl in the foreground, the right-hand background, and the woman in green. There are 11 figures in the painting–and 2 cars. Graduation Day is 42″ x 56.”
I also started the drawing on another 42″ x 56″ canvas. My rickety easel–seen in the photo–is failing. While moving the new canvas, the easel fell and a small hole was punched in the canvas. #@!%@# I will fix it with a small canvas patch and gesso.
