It’s been a slow boating season so far. The Betty Jane has some serious leaks in the fresh water system. (You can see the bilge water pouring out at the bow.) When I first discovered the water, I feared there was a serious problem, such as a compromised hull. Luckily, the problem with the fresh water system, while serious, doesn’t affect the boat’s seaworthiness. Until the problem is fixed, no fresh water–no drinking water, no toilet, no showers.
The problem should be fixed any day now.
I love my boat, but if I get another, it won’t have a sloped fore deck. It’s a Sea Ray design feature I don’t like; it makes handling the anchor in rough water more difficult than it should be.
