Today, I went back to the paintings in the Playhouse Square series. I spent a day or two working on other paintings and the drawing for a new painting (not in the series). I don’t experiment much anymore with mediums or processes. I tried a lot of different things before arriving where I am now, and I’m happy with my process. One thing I still fiddle with is grounds–grounds for canvas. The range for my trials is narrow because I’ve eliminated things that do not work.

However, within the narrow range, I still fiddle. One of the grounds that didn’t work well is under Euclid Avenue II. I struggle when the ground is subpar, and paintings take longer. Euclid Avenue II is finally in a good place and it’s downhill now.
