The poor old thing finally gave up the ghost. I knocked the Pearl brand in my Brush Reference, but this old brush kept its usefulness for a long time. The once mighty Pearl Paints has been gone for–what?–5 years.
I placed the brush alone on the palette for this photo. I was using it on the painting in the photo, Sub Rosa, when I realized that the brush had lost all its vibrancy–all its life.
It was reduced to a few hairs–useless. I can’t remember if I bought it from Pearl’s Canal St. location or their Philly store. I had this brush for over 10 years.
I added the brush to my brush graveyard; my collection of other old brushes that have passed their useful life, that have died.
